As part of "Operation Safe Child," scores of parents have registered their children with the NYPD. In the event that they ever go missing, the children will have their weight, height, eye color and fingerprints on record. Parents also have the option to pass the information on to a statewide database.
State Sen. Eric Adams (D-20th District) says he wants to make sure more parents know about the campaign. "It's hard to admit that your child can get lost or abducted," Adams said. "But obviously, it can happen."
Anyone looking to register their children can contact their local officials for more information.
