Kings County District Attorney Charles Hynes will be coming up for reelection soon. We all need to be questioning why Hynes waited until this past weekend to announce in the news media the 89 arrests for sex crimes in the ultra orthodox community (see the New York Post and New York Magazine). In truth, these figures are simple hallucinations, not even exaggerations.
The Andrew Goodman case they are trying to use as an example was never busted by the DA’s office. I was privy to the fact that his house was staked out by people with video cameras, and I followed the case closely until after the arrest by detectives of the NYPD Sex Crimes Unit.
The infamous Baruch Lebovits was arrested by NYPD SCU detectives, as well as Meir Dascalowitz.
I and several of my fellow advocates, followed some of these cases and helped the victims’ families with moral support and with food for Shabbos. I can say with a clear conscience, that the DA’s office and Henna White, did not treat the victims the way they should have. On the contrary, if not for our demonstration in front of the DA’s office, Dascalowitz would have walked a long time ago.

Now about Ramapo’s Sex Abuse Crimes.
Thomas Zugibe is the district attorney in Ramapo. There were a number of molesters reported in Monsey and New Square, and even some arrests, but everything was whitewashed and the cases vanished. Click here to read about Rabbi Boruch Erps, a former Rebbe at Yeshivah of Spring Valley. There are many victims of Yoily Weber, a former Rebbe at Belzer Yeshivah and later at Yeshivah Beis Dovid where his father-in-law, Shaya Dovid Bayer is the principal. So far none of the victims came forward to the authorities, thanks to the pressure of the Rabbis. However, he could not take the heat and ran off to Israel, where it is rumored that he runs a Yeshivah for American boys.
Monsey Rabbi Israel Hager (son of Viznitzer Rebbe), who is alleged to be a pedophile, is a very powerful man and is alleged to make most of these cases disappear.
The victims who were prepared to press charges against their offenders, were allegedly discouraged from reporting to the police, by Rabbis Tuvia Wettenstein, Chaim Shiah Halberstam, Yitzchok Luzer Moskovits and others. Doing this is a form of obstruction of justice and is a crime in the state of New York.
In New Square, Heshy Breuer is alleged to have molested scores of children and young men in the tzodik David Twersky’s home and automobile. I personally warned Twersky about it, but nothing was done until Twersky’s grandson went off the derech. It was at that time, that Breuer was finally shipped off to Jerusalem with full pay.
I have received calls from frantic mothers in New Square, that their 12 and 14 year old daughters have become pregnant from local young boys.
Many of us believe that this calls for a federal investigation. I appeal to every decent human being: Please help us rid our communities of these evildoers, including the molesters, rapists, Rabbis who cover up these crimes, and the prosecutors. Moshe Turner, a person who was expelled from various shuls in Monsey and is even known by many as “Moishe Trenner” (a very demeaning nickname), was arrested this past October 19th and the media really played up the story (see here and here). According to the news-media he was supposed to be back in court on October 27 and on November 17, but to the best of my knowledge, there was no mention of either appearance in any news outlet. His name is not on the electronic NY State court calendar (WebCrims). I tried to get an explanation for this, and came up with a blank. The only explanation I can think of is that his case was fixed. I challenge the public to prove me wrong, and I will be grateful for the information.
