(05/31/12) BROOKLYN - The parents of a Brooklyn teenager are suing the city and the Department of Education (DOE) for $10 million over an alleged sexual relationship between the student and a teacher.
Erin Sayar, an English teacher at James Madison High School, is accused of having an ongoing sexual relationship with the 16-year-old boy and offering him marijuana. The student's girlfriend reportedly saw Facebook conversations between the two and turned the information over to school officials.

Officials say that what should have been tutoring sessions were allegedly sexual encounters that took place in her office, other places in the school and off school grounds. The student’s lawyer is requesting that her office be preserved for evidence.
