WESTON, Fla. - Podiatrist Dr. Augustine Bollo is accused of molesting his 15-year-old babysitter and then offering her $300 to "not tell her parents."
That's according to the teen's family attorney, Jeff Herman, who planned a news conference about the charge Thursday afternoon.
According to the police report, Bollo and the teen were sitting next to each other on the couch at his home when he placed a blanket over them and asked her to touch his genitals.
Herman said her mother wanted to come forward to raise awareness for other parents who may have teens who baby-sit as a part-time job.
Herman said the "acts" happened at Bollo's Weston home.
The 15-year-old had been baby-sitting for Bollo's four children since September. Their families have known each other for nine years.
Bollo appeared before a bond court judge Thursday morning and at last check was still in jail.
Local 10 called Bollo's Pembroke Pines office and left a message that has yet to be returned.
A voice recording at the office touts Bollo's experience as a board certified podiatrist who has been serving patients in Broward County for the past 16 years.
He has published several articles about foot and ankle injuries in various medical journals over the years.
According to his Facebook page, Bollo worked at the South Florida Institute of Sports Medicine. When Local 10 called that office, a receptionist explained how he left the practice about a year ago.
According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, Bollo has two boys and two girls. They are now investigating if the children have ever been abused. They are also asking for any other potential victims to come forward.

PONTIAC — Oak Park resident Marc Bennett held his face in his hands when the jury announced they found him guilty of first-degree criminal sexual conduct against a boy who was 15 years old at the time.
Detective Bruce Grundei said the allegations were that Bennett inappropriately touched the 15-year-old boy. To respect the privacy of the boy, the Daily Tribune will not release his identity.
“After 15 months and multiple disclosures to the victim’s mother, camp counselors and rabbis, it was reported to the Oak Park Police Department that the defendant had sexually assaulted, (with) manual stimulation of his penis, the victim,” said Chief Assistant Prosecutor Paul Walton.
“Additionally, the victim’s mother provided a flash drive of online homosexual conversations that the defendant was having, wherein the defendant admitted to sexually abusing the victim.”
As soon as it was reported to the Oak Park Police Department, Walton said a neglect petition was filed.
Walton said, at the trial in Oakland County Circuit Court, the victim stated for the first time that the defendant had performed a sex act on him, and a warrant was subsequently filed.
After the verdict was announced Thursday morning, Judge Denise Langford Morris said, “The court finds that the defendant should be remanded to the custody of the Oakland County sheriff’s department. I note that there has been a history of danger to himself, if nothing else.”
The bond was revoked, and date for sentencing has not yet been set. Bennett will be held in the Oakland County Jail until his sentencing.
His attorney Leslie Posner hugged Bennett’s crying mother as soon as the verdict was announced.
“We did everything we could,” she said.
Posner said Bennett fondled the boy once four years ago, which he admitted to his doctor and rabbi before allegations were brought against him.
Posner said Bennett also is charged with engaging in oral sex with the victim. Bennett admitted to fondling the 15-year-old, not to performing oral sex with him.
“This is a family of 11 children, eight minors, and a mother who has never worked in her life. He was working and supporting them. And now they’re on welfare. There’s no money to support them,” Posner said.
“His parental rights have been terminated. He’s never to see his kids. He was a controller at a big company, making good money, and he was paying three-quarters of it to child support and spousal support.”

Mister Hynes – When are you picking up Abraham M. Follman, for intimidating the Jungris family?
For Intimidation of Crime Victims
I haven’t seen this kind of intimidation in organized crime cases,’ Hynes says

Brooklyn District Attorney Charles Hynes said the intimidation of sex abuse victims in the Orthodox Jewish community went beyond the bullying tactics the mob uses to silence witnesses.
“I haven’t seen this kind of intimidation in organized crime cases or police corruption,” Hynes said Wednesday. “Nobody gives a damn about victims [in that community\]. All they care about is protecting the abusers.”
Hynes said he has put together a panel of officials to develop strategies to stop bullies.
The aim “is to put people in handcuffs [if they] intimidate, harass or otherwise threaten victims or their families,” Hynes said.
Hynes has been under fire recently since enacting a policy of refusing to name accused molesters. He said that decision was to prevent victims from being harassed.
“They would engage, this community, in a relentless search for the victims. . . and then the victims will be intimidated and threatened and the case would fall apart,” said Hynes.
Victims face expulsions from yeshivas and difficulties in arranging marriages, he said.
Since he enacted the no-naming police three years ago, the problem has subsided but hasn’t disappeared, he said.
